A few student examples

Here is logo work by a few of the GRD Juniors from their 3200 class. These are just a few selected sketches, but each of these people had tons more JPGs/PNGs that I did not even post. They are (generally) in order. It will be expected that you do many, many sketches before you even start designing on the computer. The goal is to approach your initial design sketches without preconceived notions and be experimental and prolific as you develop your initial ideas. Thanks to Michelle, Mike, and Nathan!

Keep in mind, however, that before you even start the logo design, you should do client research! For example:
Who is the competition?
what are the brand's current challenges?
How would they like to be perceived?
What are the current perceptions of the company?

A solid creative brief will be required along with your designs, and this preliminary research is an important part of that document.
