Some iconic logos

Stan posted these on his 3200 blog last year, and he was kind enough to share them with me. I will post some of my own choices as time goes on, but to start with, I wanted you to see some logos that can be characterized as "iconic". These are very stylized, almost like a stamp or stencil. They are simple and elegant solutions that, while they do not appear complex, probably took a lot of time and sketches to break them down to a design that is comprised of essential elements without a lot of fuss. These are a few years old, but their simplicity is still strong. Notice how many of these either combine two elements in an unusual way and/or utilize positive/negative space to define the mark.
